Cooling plus electric heat in one matched package: a 3.5 ton Oxbox air conditioner, a matched upflow air handler, and an 8 kW heat kit for a mid-size to larger home.

Key Features

This Oxbox 3.5 ton air conditioner split system is rated at 15.2 SEER2, Oxbox's higher efficiency tier. The extra efficiency pays off most where the system runs for much of the year. Heating comes from the included 8 kW electric heat strip inside the air handler, a simple setup for areas with short, mild winters. This matchup uses the J5AH5E60A1C00AA air handler, an upflow unit with a 3/4 HP blower motor. The 3.5 ton capacity puts it in the range typically used for mid-size to larger homes. It uses R-454B refrigerant on standard 208/230V single-phase power and is approved for both DOE North and South regions.

  • Scroll compressor: fewer moving parts than older piston designs, for steady, dependable operation.
  • R-454B refrigerant: a lower global warming potential refrigerant that meets current EPA requirements for new systems.
  • 15.2 SEER2 efficiency: Oxbox's higher efficiency tier, for lower operating costs through long cooling seasons.
  • Upflow air handler with built-in evaporator coil: matched to this outdoor unit, with a 3/4 HP blower motor moving air through your ductwork.
  • 8 kW electric heat kit, included: gives you dependable heat from the same air handler, ideal where winters are short and mild.
  • 76 dB sound rating: the outdoor unit's published sound level, useful for planning placement near bedrooms, patios, or neighbors.

Common Questions

What comes in the box, and what do I still need?
You get the outdoor condenser, the indoor air handler, and the 8 kW heat kit. You'll still need a copper line set sized for your run, a condenser pad, an outdoor disconnect, electrical wiring, and a thermostat. Professional installation by a licensed HVAC technician is required for refrigerant work.
How does this system heat?
This is an air conditioner, so heating comes from the included 8 kW electric heat strip inside the air handler. It's a simple, reliable setup for areas with short, mild winters. If you heat for much of the year, a heat pump system will usually cost less to run.
Is 3.5 tons the right size for my home?
3.5 tons is a common fit for mid-size to larger homes, but square footage alone isn't a reliable guide. Insulation, windows, sun exposure, and ductwork all matter. A Manual J load calculation from your installer is the best way to confirm sizing before you buy.
How do I get the 10-year parts warranty?
Coverage is 5 years on parts as standard. Register the system with Oxbox after installation to extend parts coverage to 10 years.
