About Mobile Home Systems
HVAC equipment engineered for manufactured and mobile home installations
The Mobile Home Systems collection covers HVAC equipment specifically approved and engineered for manufactured homes, mobile homes, and park-community installations. Most units here are package units (condenser, coil, and blower in one outdoor cabinet) — the standard configuration for mobile homes since they don't require interior mechanical room space and simplify installation on a concrete pad, rooftop, or platform alongside the home.
Every unit is factory-charged, tested, and shipped from our Ocala, FL warehouse — typically out the door within 1-3 business days. We carry Goodman (a Daikin brand) and our own Ace Air private label, with configurations spanning electric heat, heat pump, and gas/electric variants.
The first decision is unit type (AC + electric heat, heat pump, or gas/electric). From there, match tonnage to your home's conditioned square footage. All units require professional installation by a licensed HVAC contractor familiar with mobile home codes.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about mobile home HVAC replacement, sizing, and installation
What's different about HVAC for a mobile home?
Mobile and manufactured homes have different HVAC requirements than site-built homes — different ductwork, different electrical configurations, and different installation codes. Units sold as 'mobile home' or 'manufactured home' approved are engineered to match: they're typically package units (not split systems), rated for mobile home ductwork pressure, and sized for the typical footprint. Installing a non-mobile-home-rated unit on a manufactured home can cause efficiency losses and violate park rules or HUD requirements.
Can I install a mobile home package unit on a regular home?
Usually yes — mobile home units are rated for that use case but also work on site-built homes with compatible ductwork. What matters is that the tonnage, electrical, and ductwork all line up. Some mobile-home-specific features (like the return-air configuration) might not be needed on a site-built install but won't hurt. The reverse — installing a standard package unit on a manufactured home — is where problems happen, as standard units may not meet HUD requirements for the install.
How do I size a package unit for my mobile home?
For precise sizing (Manual J load calculation) accounting for insulation, windows, climate, and sun exposure, call us at (352) 438-8992 — it's a free service.
Electric heat, heat pump, or gas — which should I pick?
Electric heat (resistance strips) is the simplest and most common for mobile homes. Reliable, cheap up-front, but more expensive to run than gas or heat pump. Heat pumps are the most efficient — they use the same compressor to heat and cool, running 2-3x more efficiently than electric strips. Best for mild climates. Gas/electric packages pair a gas furnace with electric AC in one cabinet — cheapest to run in cold climates with affordable gas service, but requires gas hookup at the home.
Does Ace Air Direct ship mobile home units nationwide?
Yes. We ship mobile home systems to all 48 contiguous states from our warehouse in Ocala, FL. Package units ship via freight carrier with lift-gate service available. Most orders leave within 1-3 business days with tracking and a scheduled delivery appointment. Local pickup is available in Ocala for additional savings — package units fit easily in a pickup truck bed or small trailer.
