A complete Oxbox cooling system for smaller homes, condos, and additions, with heat included. The 1.5 ton condenser and matched upflow air handler handle the summer, and the 5 kW heat strip covers cool mornings and winter nights.

Key Features

This Oxbox 1.5 ton air conditioner split system is rated at 14.3 SEER2, Oxbox's standard efficiency tier. For heat, the 5 kW electric heat kit mounts inside the air handler and warms air through the same ducts that carry your cooling. This matchup uses the J5AH4P24A1B00AA air handler, an upflow unit with a 1/5 HP blower motor. Everything runs on R-454B refrigerant and 208/230V single-phase power, and it's approved for installation in both the DOE North and South regions.

  • Rotary compressor: a compact, efficient compressor design well suited to this capacity range.
  • Upflow air handler with built-in evaporator coil: matched to this outdoor unit, with a 1/5 HP blower motor moving air through your ductwork.
  • 69 dB sound rating: the outdoor unit's published sound level, useful for planning placement near bedrooms, patios, or neighbors.
  • 5 kW electric heat kit, included: gives you dependable heat from the same air handler, ideal where winters are short and mild.
  • R-454B refrigerant: a lower global warming potential refrigerant that meets current EPA requirements for new systems.

Common Questions

What else do I need for installation?
Plan on a copper line set sized for your run, a condenser pad, an outdoor disconnect, electrical wiring, and a thermostat. Refrigerant work must be done by a licensed HVAC technician.
How does this system heat?
This is an air conditioner, so heating comes from the included 5 kW electric heat strip inside the air handler. It's a simple, reliable setup for areas with short, mild winters. If you heat for much of the year, a heat pump system will usually cost less to run.
Is 1.5 tons the right size for my home?
1.5 tons is a common fit for smaller homes, condos, and additions, but square footage alone isn't a reliable guide. Insulation, windows, sun exposure, and ductwork all matter. A Manual J load calculation from your installer is the best way to confirm sizing before you buy.
How do I get the 10-year parts warranty?
Coverage is 5 years on parts as standard. Register the system with Oxbox after installation to extend parts coverage to 10 years.
