Matched Condenser + Coil

A matched Nortek cooling pair for mid-size homes: a 3 ton air conditioner condenser and a cased micro-channel A-coil with an electric coil heater. It's a practical way to replace the outdoor unit and indoor coil together while keeping the rest of your system in place.

Key Features

This Nortek 3 ton air conditioner is rated at 14.3 SEER2 and built around a scroll compressor. It ships with a matched cased A-coil that installs in either upflow or downflow configurations, so it adapts to basement, attic, closet, and crawlspace setups. The coil includes an electric heater for heating through the same ductwork that carries your cooling.

  • Matched condenser and coil: the outdoor unit and indoor coil are paired to work together, which takes the guesswork out of matching components.
  • Scroll compressor: a proven compressor design known for smooth, steady operation and long service life.
  • Micro-channel A-coil: a compact coil design that transfers heat efficiently and uses less refrigerant than traditional tube-and-fin coils.
  • Upflow or downflow installation: one coil fits either airflow direction, giving your installer flexibility on placement.
  • Electric coil heater: provides heat from the indoor coil cabinet, so cooling and heating run through one system.
  • R-410A refrigerant: a good fit when you are replacing an existing R-410A system.

Common Questions

What do I still need for installation?
This pair covers the outdoor condenser and the indoor coil. You'll also need a blower (from your existing furnace or air handler), a copper line set sized for your run, a condenser pad, an outdoor disconnect, electrical wiring, and a thermostat. Refrigerant work must be done by a licensed HVAC technician.
Will the coil work with my setup?
The cased A-coil installs in either upflow or downflow configurations, which covers most furnace and air handler layouts. Have your installer confirm the cabinet width and duct connections match your existing equipment before ordering.
Is 3 tons the right size for my home?
3 tons is a common fit for mid-size single-family homes, but square footage alone isn't a reliable guide. Insulation, windows, sun exposure, and ductwork all matter. A Manual J load calculation from your installer is the best way to confirm sizing before you buy.
