Key Features

What sets this system apart

Complete Factory-Matched System

All three components — condenser, furnace, and coil — are engineered and AHRI-certified to work together as a matched system. You get the published 15.2 SEER2 / 80% AFUE efficiency ratings, correct refrigerant line sizing, and a single-source solution covered by Goodman's warranty.

Cooling + Natural Gas Heating

Year-round comfort with 2.5-ton cooling capacity in summer and 48,000 BTU/h of natural gas heating output in winter. The condenser cools; the furnace heats; the coil links them into one ducted system.

R-32 Refrigerant

Built around R-32 — the next-generation residential refrigerant with lower environmental impact than R-410A. R-32 systems require up to 30% less refrigerant charge and deliver improved thermodynamic performance, meeting current EPA and AIM Act requirements.

Single-Stage Scroll Compressor

The outdoor condenser uses a proven single-stage scroll compressor — reliable, consistent cooling performance with smooth operation, high efficiency, and long service life.

Multi-Speed ECM Blower

The gas furnace uses an electronically commutated motor (ECM) that adjusts airflow precisely to heating and cooling demand. ECM blowers use significantly less electricity than older PSC motors, particularly during long low-speed operation.

Backed by Goodman

Covered by Goodman's 10-Year Parts Limited Warranty (all components), 10-Year Compressor Limited Warranty (condenser), and Lifetime Heat Exchanger Limited Warranty (furnace) when registered within 60 days of installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes in this kit?
Three components shipped together: (1) the outdoor condenser GLXS5BA3010A, (2) the indoor gas furnace GR9S800603BNA, and (3) the indoor evaporator coil CAPTA3022B3A. Line set (refrigerant tubing), thermostat, ductwork, condensate drain, gas line connections, and electrical wiring are NOT included and are supplied by your HVAC contractor based on your home's installation needs.
Why buy as a matched kit vs. separate components?
Matched systems are AHRI-certified to deliver their published SEER2 and AFUE ratings — mixing components from different manufacturers or model families often results in lower real-world efficiency and can complicate warranty claims. The factory match also ensures refrigerant line sizing, TXV calibration, and airflow are correct from day one.
What does AHRI-certified mean?
AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) independently tests and certifies matched HVAC system combinations. An AHRI certificate confirms that a specific condenser + coil + furnace combination delivers the stated SEER2 and AFUE ratings under standardized test conditions. Many utility rebates and tax credits require AHRI-certified matched systems — your HVAC contractor can provide the AHRI certificate for this combination.
What's the difference between SEER2 and AFUE?
SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2) measures cooling efficiency across a typical season — higher numbers mean lower summer electricity bills. AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) measures heating efficiency — what percentage of the gas burned becomes usable heat. This system is rated at 15.2 SEER2 for cooling and 80% AFUE for heating. Both matter; they describe different sides of the system.
The title says "R-32" — does that mean the gas furnace uses refrigerant?
No. The gas furnace does not contain refrigerant — it burns natural gas to heat air. The "R-32" designation applies to the cooling side of the system: the outdoor condenser and the indoor evaporator coil circulate R-32 refrigerant between them during cooling mode. The furnace is "R-32 compatible" in that it's engineered to serve as the air-mover beneath an R-32 coil with proper airflow and A2L safety compliance.
What size home does this system serve?
A 2.5-ton system is generally appropriate for homes in the 1,200–1,600 sq. ft. range for cooling, though climate zone, insulation, window area, and home layout affect sizing. On the heating side, the 48,000 BTU/h output is typical for similarly-sized homes. A professional Manual J load calculation by your HVAC contractor is the most accurate way to confirm the right system size for your specific home.
Will this fit my existing ductwork?
Probably — most residential ductwork is designed for systems in the 2–5 ton range. Your HVAC contractor will measure static pressure and verify that your existing ducts can handle this system's airflow. In some cases ducts need to be resized or rebalanced. Cabinet fit (the furnace and coil sitting together) is determined by cabinet width letter — this system uses a Cabinet B coil on a Cabinet B furnace.
Do I need to install all three components at the same time?
Best practice, yes. AHRI certification and Goodman's warranty apply to the matched system. If you replace only one or two components and leave the third (e.g., pairing this new condenser with your old coil), the published SEER2 rating no longer applies and warranty coverage can be affected. Replacing all three at once also ensures correct refrigerant line set sizing and compatible control wiring.
How do I register the warranty?
Each component must be registered separately at Goodman's warranty registration page within 60 days of installation. You'll need the model number and serial number (from each data plate), installation date, and installing contractor information for all three components. Without timely registration, warranty terms revert to a shorter base period.
