Common Questions
Where does it go?
It installs in the main supply or return duct of a forced-air system. It needs a closed duct at least 16 inches wide and should not be mounted near a supply or return opening. Because it fits existing ductwork, it is easy to add during a new system install.
Will it work with the system I am buying?
It is sized for forced-air systems from 1.5 to 5 tons, which covers most residential split systems, heat pumps, and air handlers on our site. Add it to your order so it is ready to go in with your new equipment.
UV-Aire or Duo: which should I choose?
The UV-Aire focuses on UV treatment of airborne germs and keeping the coil clean. If you also want help with odors and VOCs, the Duo models add photocatalytic and carbon stages.
What maintenance does it need?
The UVC lamp loses output over time and should be replaced periodically. The replacement lamp is part number 46511200.
