This complete Everwell air conditioner split system pairs a 2.5 ton top-discharge R-454B condensing unit with a multi-position air handler, delivering 28,000 BTU of cooling capacity at 14.3 SEER2 efficiency on 208–230V single-phase power. The matched system is AHRI Certified and ETL Listed.

  • Pre-charged condenser with R-454B — next-generation A2L refrigerant with lower operating pressures and reduced environmental impact compared to R-410A.
  • Top-discharge condensing unit — vertical airflow design with all-copper coil, GoldFin corrosion-resistant coating, and high-performance scroll compressor.
  • A2L-safe air handler — built-in refrigerant leak sensor automatically shuts down the system and clears vents if a leak is detected.

Note on cabinet sizing: The 2.5-Ton condenser is paired with the 3.0-Ton air handler cabinet (AHC3614BA15). Everwell's smallest AHC cabinet starts at 3.0 Ton — this oversizing is normal and won't affect performance, since the system capacity is set by the condenser.

Common Questions

Is this a complete system?
Yes — outdoor condenser plus indoor air handler. You'll still need a copper line set sized for your installation distance, electrical wiring, and a thermostat. Heat kit (if desired) is sold separately.
What about heat?
This is a cooling-only system. For heat, you'd either use your existing heat source (gas furnace, boiler, etc.) or add an Everwell electric heat kit (WTM series) into the air handler cabinet. For climates where heating is the primary need, a heat pump system is more efficient than AC + electric heat.
Why R-454B?
R-454B is a next-generation A2L refrigerant designed to replace R-410A. It has a significantly lower global warming potential and operates at lower pressures and temperatures, which can extend system component life. R-454B aligns with EPA AIM Act phase-down requirements for high-GWP refrigerants in new HVAC equipment.
How does this compare to Goodman or Ace Air?
