What This Is

This is the outdoor heat pump unit of an Everwell 1.5-Ton matched system. A heat pump cools in summer like a regular AC and heats in winter by reversing the refrigerant cycle — one outdoor unit, both seasons. To make a working system you'll need a matched indoor air handler (Everwell AHC series).

Heat pumps work well in mild-to-moderate climates. For colder areas, the matched air handler can be paired with an electric heat kit (sold separately) for backup heating on the coldest days.

What's included?
Just the outdoor heat pump condenser (CAC1814HA15). You'll need a matched air handler and copper line set to make a working system. Many buyers purchase the complete matched system kit instead — it's typically priced lower than buying components separately.
How does a heat pump differ from an AC?
An AC only cools. A heat pump uses the same refrigeration cycle but adds a reversing valve, so it can move heat indoors in winter and outdoors in summer — one unit, both seasons. In mild climates a heat pump can replace both your AC and your furnace.
Will it work in cold weather?
Heat pumps are most efficient down to about 40°F outdoor temperature. Below that, capacity drops and supplemental heat is recommended. The matched air handler accepts a field-installable electric heat kit for cold-weather backup.
What size air handler should I pair with this?
For a balanced 1.5-Ton system, pair with the matching Everwell AHC-series air handler in the appropriate cabinet size. Talk to us if you're not sure.
