Daizuki Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) heat pump. Self-contained cooling and heating in a single through-the-wall unit. Designed for hotels, apartments, condos, additions, sunrooms, and any space where a wall-sleeve installation is preferred over central HVAC or a mini split.

Key Features

This Daizuki PTAC delivers 12,000 BTU of cooling capacity with R-32 heat pump operation on 208–230V single-phase power. Built for hotel and property-management applications, it includes a front-desk control port and 24V thermostat compatibility for centralized control. UL and AHRI Certified.

  • Heat pump with electric backup — efficient heating year-round, with electric supplement for the coldest days.
  • Pre-charged with R-32 — newer-generation refrigerant with lower environmental impact than R-410A.
  • GoldFin coil coating — corrosion-resistant treatment built for hotel and coastal environments.
  • 24V thermostat compatible — works with standard wall thermostats for centralized control.
  • Front desk control port — purpose-built for hotel applications, allowing front-desk override of in-room settings.
  • Random compressor restart — protects the electrical system after power outages.
  • Anti-freezing protection — safeguards the unit in cold weather.
  • Accessories sold separately: — condensate drain kit, foldable wall sleeve, extruded architectural grille, stamped grille.

What This Is

A PTAC is a self-contained heating and cooling unit designed to be installed through an exterior wall using a metal wall sleeve. Everything — compressor, evaporator, condenser, blower, electric heat — lives inside one cabinet. No separate indoor/outdoor units, no refrigerant line set to run, no ductwork.

This is a heat pump PTAC, meaning it can both cool in summer and heat in winter by reversing the refrigerant cycle. In very cold weather, capacity drops and the unit's electric resistance heat strip provides supplemental heating. One unit, both seasons.

Daizuki sits as a mid-tier PTAC option. Solid build, capable performance, R-32 refrigerant, and a notably stronger 5/5/5 warranty than Daizuki's mini split lineup. Common applications: hotel rooms, multi-family conversions, dormitories, sunrooms, additions, and any single-zone space where ductwork isn't practical.

Common Questions

What's a PTAC?
PTAC stands for Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner. It's a self-contained heating and cooling unit that mounts through an exterior wall in a metal sleeve. Everything you need is in one cabinet — no separate indoor/outdoor units, no refrigerant line set, no ductwork. Common in hotels, apartments, dorms, condos, and additions.
Does it heat as well as cool?
Yes — this is a heat pump PTAC. It cools in summer and heats in winter by reversing the refrigerant cycle. Cooling capacity is 12,000 BTU/h; heat pump heating is 10,800 BTU/h. In very cold weather, capacity drops and the unit's electric heat strip provides supplemental heating.
What size space does it fit?
At 12,000 BTU/h cooling, this unit is sized for roughly the spaces you'd expect from this BTU rating — for a quick estimate, multiply BTU by 0.05 to get approximate square footage covered, but consider insulation, climate, and sun exposure when sizing. Daizuki has a sizing tool on their website if you want a more precise calculation.
Do I need a wall sleeve?
Yes. PTACs install in a standard 42"-wide x 16"-tall metal wall sleeve cut into an exterior wall. If you're replacing an existing PTAC, the existing sleeve usually works (sleeve dimensions are standardized in the industry). For new installs, the sleeve is sold separately.
Why R-32?
R-32 is the next-generation refrigerant replacing R-410A. Lower global warming potential, slightly higher efficiency, and aligned with the EPA AIM Act phase-out timeline. R-32 is A2L-classified — handling and installation should follow EPA, ASHRAE, and local code safety standards.
How long is the warranty?
The Daizuki PTAC R-32 series carries a 5-year coil, 5-year parts, and 5-year compressor warranty — notably stronger than Daizuki's mini split coverage. Coverage requires installation in the continental US, online registration, and connection to a dedicated circuit breaker with surge protection. Commercial-use coverage is limited to 1 year.
