Key Features

This Everwell multi-position air handler is designed for 5.0 ton R-454B refrigerant systems and supports upflow, downflow, or horizontal installation. It pairs with compatible cooling-only or heat pump condensing units and includes a built-in A2L refrigerant leak sensor for added safety. AHRI Certified and ETL Listed.

A2L refrigerant sensor — built-in leak detection automatically shuts down the system and runs the fan at high speed to clear vents if a leak is detected.
Flexible installation — supports upflow, downflow, or horizontal configurations to fit closet, attic, or basement applications.
All-copper coils — for long-term durability and efficient heat transfer.
Compatible with cooling-only and heat pump systems — when paired with a matching condensing unit.

What This Is

This is the indoor half of an Everwell matched split system — the unit that moves conditioned air through the ductwork. It contains the blower motor and the evaporator coil where refrigerant from the outdoor condenser absorbs heat from your indoor air.

This air handler accepts a field-installable electric heat kit for backup heating in heat pump systems or as primary heating in air conditioner systems with electric heat.

Common Questions

What size condenser does this pair with?

This is a 5-Ton cabinet. It's designed to pair with Everwell CAC-series condensers in the same tonnage range. The 2-Ton cabinet (AHC2414) typically pairs with 1.5–2.0 Ton condensers.

Do I need a separate evaporator coil?

No. The evaporator coil is pre-installed inside the air handler cabinet — already charged with R-32 and ready to connect to your outdoor unit's line set.

Can this be used with a heat pump?

Yes. This air handler works with both AC condensers (for cooling-only systems) and heat pump condensers (for systems that heat and cool). For colder climates, add an electric heat kit for backup heat on the coldest days.

What about an electric heat kit?

Heat kits are sold separately (Everwell WTM series, 5kW–15kW options). They install in the field and provide supplemental electric heat. Required for AC + electric heat configurations; recommended for heat pump systems in cold climates.
